Privacy Policy

SolidMetric respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your information.

Information We Collect

We collect information you voluntarily provide through quote, contact, project and file-upload forms, and through order or customer-service communications. Depending on your request, this may include:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Project descriptions, dimensions, specifications, requested materials, thicknesses, and quantities
  • Drawings, CAD and design files, reference images, and other files you supply
  • Country, city, Province/State, Postal/ZIP code, and address information where needed
  • Shipping, delivery, pickup, and other fulfillment information
  • Business or company name, if voluntarily provided
  • Messages, notes, and other information you choose to supply

How We Use Your Information

We use this information to:

  • Review and respond to quote requests
  • Communicate regarding your project
  • Provide pricing and production details
  • Delivery and logistics estimation
  • Shipping and service area evaluation
  • Quote preparation and fulfillment coordination
  • Complete orders and support repeat orders
  • Reconcile payments and maintain accounting, tax, and business records
  • Help verify transactions, prevent fraud, protect security, and handle disputes
  • Meet applicable legal obligations

File Handling

Customers may upload technical or reference files for quoting, manufacturability review, and manufacturing. The current upload form accepts DXF, DWG, STEP/STP, SVG, PDF, JPG/JPEG, PNG, HEIC, and WEBP files. We do not publicly list customer-uploaded files. Files may be processed by service providers needed to store files or deliver our services, and may be retained where reasonably necessary for quotes, orders, customer support, repeat orders, or business records.

Customer, Order, and Transaction Records

We may maintain customer contact information, project details, order history, invoice numbers, payment status and transaction references, fulfillment information, and customer communications. These records support quoting, order fulfillment, payment reconciliation, customer support, repeat orders, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal or business recordkeeping. Maintaining these records does not enroll a customer in promotional marketing.

Card Payments Through Square

SolidMetric uses Square as a third-party payment processor. Customers may be directed to a Square-hosted page to submit a card payment for a SolidMetric invoice. Square processes payment-card information under its own terms and privacy practices. SolidMetric does not intentionally store full payment-card numbers or CVV security codes on SolidMetric servers.

We may receive or retain payment amounts, payment status, invoice references, transaction references, and information needed for accounting or customer support. Square may also maintain customer and transaction history, including Instant Profiles where applicable to its services. Such records may support transaction processing, reconciliation, repeat orders, support, fraud prevention, and legal or business recordkeeping; payment does not automatically opt a customer into marketing.

Square controls its own payment and privacy practices. See Square’s Privacy Notice for more information.

Interac e-Transfer

SolidMetric may also accept payment by Interac e-Transfer sent to info@solidmetric.ca. Financial institutions and their payment services process the transfer. We may retain the transaction information provided to us for reconciliation, support, accounting, fraud prevention, and business records.

Website Analytics — Google Analytics

SolidMetric uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the website. Google Analytics may collect device and browser information, pages viewed, interactions, session duration, referral or traffic-source information, approximate geographic region, and data through cookies or similar technologies. This helps us improve website content and performance. Analytics is separate from the information you provide through forms and communications.

Google Analytics is provided by Google LLC. Information collected through Google Analytics may be processed on Google’s servers. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy.

Advertising Measurement — Meta Pixel

With your consent, SolidMetric uses Meta Pixel — a technology provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. — to measure website visits, product page views, and successful quote submissions. This information is used to understand the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and to optimize future marketing.

Meta Pixel may collect data including pages visited, the fact that a product page was viewed, and whether a quote form was successfully submitted. We do not send your name, email address, phone number, postal address, uploaded files, or quote details to Meta.

Meta Pixel is only loaded after you accept marketing tracking through the cookie preference control. If you decline, Meta Pixel is not initialized and no data is sent to Meta from your visit.

For more information about how Meta uses this data, see Meta’s Privacy Policy.

Tracking Preference

When you first visit SolidMetric, a cookie preference banner gives you the choice to accept or decline non-essential marketing tracking. Your choice is saved and persists across future visits.

You can revise your preference at any time:

Declining marketing tracking does not affect your ability to use the website or submit quote requests. Google Analytics continues to operate independently of this preference.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Information may be processed by service providers needed for hosting and file storage, email and communications, payments, analytics, or other services described in this policy. We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal obligations.

When shipping or delivery is requested, we may share the information necessary to fulfill that shipment or delivery with the provider used for that transaction. This does not mean every carrier receives customer information.

Transactional Communications and Marketing

Purchasing, paying, uploading a file, or requesting a quote does not automatically opt you into promotional marketing. Messages needed to prepare a quote, complete an order, reconcile a payment, or provide support are separate from marketing consent. Marketing consent is also separate from ordinary customer and transaction recordkeeping.

Data Retention

We retain information and files only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide requested services, support quotes and orders, assist with repeat orders and customer support, and meet accounting, transaction-record, fraud-prevention, legal, and business-record requirements. The appropriate period depends on the information and why it is needed; this policy does not promise a fixed deletion period.

Website Data

Basic technical data, such as page visits, may be collected to improve website performance and user experience.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect submitted information, but no online system is guaranteed to be fully secure.
